Planned Right. Built All the Way Through.

There is so much to say about Texas Building Center, but you would tire of reading. :) My story starts in Fort Worth, driving in to Kingland in mid May 2015 with only a small vision and a needed completion date of mid-November. Do you have any idea how hard it is to trust an unknown company to make your dream become a reality? How do you oversee a construction job 250 miles from it? The crew not only designed and built my barndominium exactly as I requested (from a hand drawing), they had it ready to move in by mid-October. My family thought we could do much of the interior work, so the 1st request for the building was mostly for the frame, the siding, and all the electrical and plumbing. What a mistake on our part! Another request to wall in the interior rooms - done. Then a request to put insulation and drywall up - done. A plea to add a wood burning stove - done. We wanted this structure basically in a pasture, where my dad originally had a mobile home. L.E. and his crew worked to make my vision the home it is. This isn't the home we'll live in every day - yet, as we can only visit monthly. But with the ability to add on, it will become our retirement home. When the first major forceful rain came, we found a couple of small areas where water could enter. One phone call, and it was fixed. When some of the window caulking was messy, a photo was taken and sent, and before the week was over, it was corrected, and the person who did the inferior work was dismissed. L.E. will not allow poor craftsmanship to be attached to his name. THAT is a feat not often found today. And very appreciated. In the past 3 years, I have called the office with a question, or a request. Every one was answered with helpful insight and making sure I was pleased with the end result. There will be more to do - more to add, and I look forward to working with L.E. and the rest of the team at Texas Building Center. The unknowns from 250 miles away were all met with confidence. It has been a very satisfying business dealing and I recommend them without reservation. You know it's a good business when honesty and integrity are high on their list.

Mike thoughtfully helped us create a building that perfectly fit our needs. Texas Building Center has an outstanding source of contractors who were all skillfully experienced and hard working. I have nothing but good things to say about TBC, from the planning stage to finish product, all my metal building needs were met. Mike, staff, and all crews involved did an outstanding job and the building experience exceeded our expectations. I had a great experience working with Texas Building Center on my shop and carport combo. My lot presented some limiting factors but Mike and the crew at TBC came up with a good plan and it turned out great! If you are in the market for a metal building or barndominium you should give Texas Building Center a call.

2 year as ago my husband and I decided we wanted to build a bardominum on our property in Llano County. Our place is somewhat “off the beaten path” and we quickly learned that because of our location we would have some obstacles to overcome. We began our project, as many would, by asking friends and neighbors for referrals and recommendations. After calling several local building contractors we were told either we were too remote or that it would be 18-24 months before we would have a finished structure (not what we expected). So, we went back to the drawing board and started combing the internet and that’s when we discovered Texas Building Center in Kingsland, TX. Now, my husband and I live several hours away from our property, we knew that this project would require some travel and we had prepared to go to Kingsland for an initial meeting. So I called to set something up and that’s when I met Mike Tatom. After talking to Mike about our project he said it wouldn’t be necessary for us to travel to Kingsland, but that he and his family would be vacationing in our area and said he would be happy to meet with me. What? Seriously who would take time away from a family vacation to meet with a potential client that might not even hire you? Mike Tatom would, and Mike Tatom did. During our meeting Mike was realistic about the construction schedule, our budget and some of the obstacles we might have to overcome. I felt like Mike really listened to my concerns and that he understood our vision. The next step was to meet out at our property and select a build site, and I’ll just say that Mike really has an eye for what a front porch view should look like (ours is breathtaking!). However, the project was not without it’s roadblocks. From dealing with uncooperative utility companies and weather delays to digging through equipment damaging granite, Mike handled all of it with timely communication and a diligent commitment to staying on schedule. Throughout the project Jodi Tatom, Mike’s lovely wife, was a real lifesaver too. She was so patient and really helpful with selecting finishes, running to Home Depot for me more than a dozen times or so, explaining the billing process and generally helped me from freaking out and feeling overwhelmed.. I felt like she listened and there wasn’t a single time that she didn’t return a phone call or answer a text message on the same day. Right on schedule the day arrived, our new Barndominium was ready. So we hired some big strong guys too help us get our things loaded into a moving truck and we would be on our way. But we had one little problem, the weather wasn’t cooperating and how in the world would my husband and I unload everything ourselves when we got there? So, I called Jodi and asked if she knew of anyone that could help us unload all of our stuff, when she said she could have a few guys meet us at our place I was shocked! After a long, and somewhat treacherous drive we arrived to find Mike, L.E. (Mike’s after-in-law), one of L.E.’s friends, 3 guys from Texas Building Center and thoughtfully prepared welcome basket full of goodies. It took them a little over an hour to unload everything and get things in their respective rooms. They really made it easy. So I’ll end this by saying, from start to finish the ENTIRE team at Texas Building Center went way above and beyond our expectations. Good honest people, with a quality product are extremely rare to find in the world we live in. We are just so very grateful to have found those qualities in the folks at Texas Building Center. Mike, Jodi, L.E., Wendell, Chad and everyone else at Texas Building Center, Thank You all for treating us like family, this has been one of the most fun and educational experiences we’ve had. We couldn’t be happier….and we’d do it all over again just to work with you guys.

Went to Texas Building Center to gather information about barndominiums. The staff were so friendly and very helpful, they answered all our questions and gave us a lot to think about, they were honest and upfront about pricing.

We love our home. It’s as custom or not, as the client chooses. Ours is just beautiful. I appreciated the level of communication and timeliness of project management. Even after the transaction was done, they have been very helpful in resolving the minor typical issues that have cropped up after a new build. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

We would recommend Texas building Center for anyone looking to build a barndo! We love the style and feel of our new home. What really made our experience worth it was the great communication from Mike, Jodi and Matt. They always kept us up to date on how the house was progressing and even helped with answering questions I had about design options. The venders they recommended for cabinets, counter tops and other design options were high quality and also so easy to work with. If you are considering building a new home, we highly recommend meeting with them and seeing some of their work.

We are so happy that we chose Texas building Center. They built our Barndominnium and we are very pleased with the quality of work.
