A Hands-On
Approach to Building
Texas Building Center was started with a simple idea: projects run better when the people planning them are the same ones involved throughout construction. Since 2010, we’ve been building barndominiums, custom homes, and metal buildings across the Texas Hill Country with that approach in mind.
We stay involved from the first conversation through the final walkthrough. That means questions are answered directly, decisions are handled without layers, and changes are discussed before they create problems. Clients know who they’re working with and what’s happening on their project at each stage.
Meet the team
Our team is small by design. When you reach out, you’re working directly with the people responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing the build.
Mike
Born and raised in Texas, with over 25 years of hands-on construction experience, I’m a small-town homebuilder specializing in barndominiums, custom homes, and metal buildings. Growing up on a farm taught me the value of hard work, honesty, and faith—principles I bring to every project. I love Jesus, my family, and our community, and I take pride in building homes where families can truly live, grow, and make lasting memories.
Jodi
I’m the office manager who brings order to the chaos of construction. I’m the second generation of Texas Building Center and involved in the design and finish-out of every project—while the guys handle the heavy lifting, I help make your space both beautiful and practical. I believe that keeping faith, family, and community at the center of our lives is just as important as working hard. When I’m not at work you will find me cheering our kids at their events, volunteering at school or church and spending time with friends and family.
Matt
Cowboy at heart, homebuilder by trade, I believe in hard work, honest craftsmanship and building things that last – homes, values and integrity.
Bella & Rocco
We proudly hold down the Barketing Department, ensuring every person who walks through the door is properly welcomed and given ample opportunity to scratch behind our ears. We are fluent in basic commands, though we may occasionally choose to ignore them in favor of begging for treats, enthusiastically seeking attention from new friends as if we’ve known them our entire lives, or strategically interrupting work to request pets, walks, or general admiration.
Our core competencies include detecting the sound of a treat bag from anywhere in the building, napping openly and confidently to model a healthy work–life balance, and offering unwavering encouragement and emotional support during meetings. We take our role seriously—especially when treats are involved—and love bringing a little extra joy to the office every day.
Built Around Clear Planning
Every project starts with planning that reflects how the building will actually be used. Layout, access, materials, and budget are discussed early so expectations are set before construction begins. This helps avoid mid-project changes and keeps work moving steadily.
Whether the project is a barndominium, a custom home, or a metal building, the process stays the same. Decisions are made up front, progress is tracked in stages, and clients stay informed as the build moves forward.
Focused on the Texas Hill Country
We are based in Burnet and truly understand not just the Texas Hill Country, but the Highland Lakes Area where land conditions, access, and permitting vary widely. That local focus helps us plan projects that fit the property instead of forcing a standard approach onto every site.
By understanding the region and staying involved throughout the build, we’re able to deliver finished projects that work long term and make sense for the people using them.
